FINA Releases Information Regarding Speedsuit Summit Taking Place in February -- December 22, 2008
(FINAが2月に開催される高速水着に関するサミットの情報を公開--2008年12月22日)
LAUSANNE, Switzerland, December 22. IN a press release distributed today, FINA released some information regarding the Speedsuit Summit the organization has planned for February.
(12月22日、スイス・ローザンヌ。報道機関の今日の発表によると、FINAは2月に開催予定の高速水着に関するサミットの情報を公開した。)

As previously announced, FINA is in the process of reviewing the procedures for swimwear approval, namely in the areas of the swimsuits' material, thickness, use, shape and availability. For that, FINA has scheduled a meeting in Lausanne on February 20, 2009 inviting the swimwear manufacturers and the representatives of the FINA Technical Swimming Committee as well as FINA Athletes, Coaches and Legal Commissions.
(以前発表した通り、FNAは、水着承認手続き、具体的には水着素材の面積、厚み、効果、形、入手可能性の見直し過程にある。このため、FINAは、2009年2月20日に水着メーカー、FINA水泳技術委員会の代表者ならびにFINAアスリート、コーチ、法律委員会をスイス・ローザンヌに招待し、会議を行う予定である。)
On this occasion, an objective analysis of the issues which have recently been raised will be made and eventual solutions for the future will be studied.
(この機会で、近年露呈した問題の客観的な分析が行われ、将来見本となる究極的な新ルールへ結び付くであろう。)
To support the development and possible implementation of these solutions, FINA will rely on independent experts of high reputation.
(新ルールの構築、実現のためにFINAは、独立した高評価の専門家に意見を求める意向である。)
After the outcome of the above mentioned meeting and if any scientific reports are available, FINA will then bring these conclusions to its Bureau meeting, to be held from March 12-14, 2009 in Dubai (UAE), in order to take appropriate action on this matter.
(先に述べた会議の結果を受けて、もし科学的な報告があれば、FINAは、この案件に関し、慎重な対応をするために2009年3月12〜14日にUAE・ドバイで行われるブルネイ会議に結論を先延ばしする予定である。)
FINA underlines that the issue of swimwear approval is a complex one and needs to be considered in a careful manner. That is why FINA is looking for the collaboration of all the partners in this area, so that final decisions can be globally accepted and fully understandable by the Swimming worldwide community.
(FINAは、水着承認問題は複雑で慎重に協議すべきであると認識している。そのため、この(水着)分野のすべての協力パートナーを招待している。それ故、最終決定は世界的に受け入れられ全世界の水泳界から理解されるものとなるだろう。)
The wording is much more conciliatory, with various openings for potential change, compared to FINA's initial response earlier this year that all suits that were approved met FINA's regulations.
(FINAの言い回しは、承認されたすべての水着がFINAの規定を満たした今年初めのFINAの対応と比較すると冒頭から根本的な変化があり、とても融和的である。)
The way the momentum is going regarding this issue in the swimming community means that some serious change is likely to occur by March. About the only thing that can derail this momentum would be in-fighting among the various entities invited to the Speedsuit Summit.
(水泳界のこの問題に対するの方向性は、3月までにいくつか重大な変化が起こり得る気配である。高速水着サミットに招待されたパートナー間の内部争いでもない限りこれは確実であろう。)
う〜ん、、、FINAの反省を込めた声明か、確実にルールを変えますよと言わんばかりの発表です。
